PINOY TSUPER HERO YEAR FOUR

Phoenix Petroleum President & CEO Dennis Uy thought about this idea when he chance upon a driver being interviewed on TV that has no capacity to celebrate Christmas.
“Pinoy Tsuper Hero is a program that aims to honor both public and private drivers who seem to be underappreciated because they miss a lot of important family occasions just to serve people,” Uy shared.
So, together with the late Gina Lopez of Abs-cbn Lingkod Kapamilya foundation and Bayan Academy they started the Pinoy Tsuper Hero program several years ago. It's main mission is to continue in promoting driving as a noble profession, bringing out the 'superhero' in every driver.

It was a difficult task for the board of judges because each and everyone of them deserves to win.

Tourist van driver and operator Augusto “Gus” Pascual, 59, a native of Tagbilaran City Bohol emerge as the winner out of more than 12,000 other nominees. He bagged the most coveted title of "Pinoy Tsuper Hero" fourth edition of Phoenix Petroleum Philippines. Together with the support of ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation Inc. and Bayan Academy
Mr.Pascual was awarded by Phoenix chief operating officer Henry Fadullon named him as grand champion, MMDA General manager Jose Arturo Garcia and Abs-Cbn Ernie Lopez as well as the Possible business representative and other sponsors. He received an insurance, a brand new Mitsubishi FB, and P50,000 worth of petroleum and lubricant products, among other prizes.

He is former medical representative and a father of three said he was not expecting to win the entire contest. Pascual is married to Felisidad and has three children, Alvin, 34; Angelie Faith, 31; and Avigail Faye, 28. All three are working professionals.
“At first, I thought it was a scam,” said Pascual after he was chosen as among top 15 contestants for Bohol in September. Pascual was among over 100 drivers who applied for the contest at the Phoenix fuel station along CPG Avenue in Tagbilaran City.

Pascual has been in the tour transport industry for seven years through the Bohol Island Tour Operators and Drivers Multipurpose Cooperative.

“Very overwhelmed ko pag-announce, I wasn’t expecting it,” said Pascual.

Pascual will be Phoenix’s ambassador for a year, during his reign as the Pinoy Tsuper Hero for 2019. He joined
the roster of past winners Alberto Abad from Rizal, Edwin Escamos from Iloilo and, Rey Samonte from Batangas.

He started out mainly driving tourists around in Bohol’s tourist destinations, but in 2017, he was named general manager of their cooperative. He was more focused on office work but still drove for former clients who asked specifically for his service.

According to Pascual, part of his cash awards will be used to improve his cooperative’s garage to meet the requirements set by the government’s Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program. He also wants to buy tires, interiors and sell it with a little profit and even allow co-members to get a loan with a little interest just so what little money they have would earn and continue to benefit the cooperative members.

“Kuya Kim” Atienza together with DJ Ayie of Myxx hosted the awards night for Pinoy Tsuper Hero.
