KPEPS 2013: Kumon Philippines' Education & Parenting Seminar
Kumon Philippines' Education and Parenting Seminar (KPEPS) was recently held in SM City Pampanga last July 13, 2013.
Present during the event are the big wigs of Kumon Philippines Inc. (Left to Right) Mrs. F. Enrile, Mr. Koko Enrile, Mr.Tadashi Nakatsuka - President of Kumon Philippines, Inc., Ms.Margie Mercado - Kumon Instructor and Mr. Harlan Busto - Kumon Philippines PR division Leader.
Kumon Philippines, Inc. aims to help every parent support his or her child in achieving the latter's full potential to triumph in any test of life. For five straight years now, Kumon Philippines, Inc., as part of its advocacy campaign to be of service to the Filipino parents, had been organizing and hosting parenting seminars to deliver values and insights for the parents and educators of today through its annual Kumon Philippines' Education and Parenting Seminar (KPEPS)
Research has shown that when core emotional needs are not met during the formative years of a child, “life traps” (schemas) will develop. The core emotional needs are:
-Connection & Acceptance
-Healthy Autonomy & Performance
-Reasonable Limits
-Realistic Expectations
and the “Plus-One” need for…
-Spiritual Values & Community
While no one’s parenting can ever be perfect, “Good Enough Parenting” can help show parents through a Movie Therapy TM how to meet these core emotional needs, and provide parenting that is “good enough” to prevent “life traps” from developing in their children.
“In a world of too much information, “Good Enough Parenting” uses movies to teach parents how to MEET CORE NEEDS, and, at the same time, how to avoid passing down their own dysfunctional behaviors. While Kumon believes in the importance of a child’s academic growth, it also firmly believes that a child’s emotional growth is just as important.
