D'Ninang Movie Review

Last night, I was invited to the red carpet premier of Regal Films opening salvo for the year 2020 entitled D'NINANG.

AI Ai Las Alas comedic timing is excellent. She never misses to make you laugh with her punch lines. I wonder how she manages to make a simple scene laughable with her perfect timing!

The role she's playing in this movie might not be a good example to society in general but it also shows how an individual can be reformed when she realizes that what she was doing was wrong not only in the eyes of men but it is also against God's commandments. One must change from within themselves and make every mistake or wrong right.

In retrospect, Filipinos are really very forgiving. We are known for being so forgiving. Filipino society is spectacular. We always give second chances to individuals who reform from their evil ways and become a better member of the community. No wonder, even in relationships we do the same thing. Even in politics.

Aiai is Ninang, a pickpocket who has a heart of gold. Who always lend a helping hand to whoever needs her help. No questions asked. No qualms. Always yes.

I feel sorry to her character when the time comes that she no longer have money, not even a single person that she had helped in the past helped her. But her character is still lucky because her housemates still helped her to raise the necessary money for her daughter's heart transplant operation.

All their efforts was in vain because the corrupt policeman played by Joey Marquez and her adopted daughter Sol kidnapped her real daughter Mikhai and asked Ninang to bring all their loots in exchange for her daughter's life.

Despite raising her adopted daughter Sol since she was little. She double crossed Ninang because of her wrong notion that Ninang abandoned her.

Angel Guardian's presence in the big screen is note worthy. You have to watch out for her in the future.

The movie is worth every cents because it has a beautiful storyline.

D'Ninang is under the direction of G.B. Sampedro. It is set to be shown on January 22, 2020 in all theaters nationwide.
