#117 FICTAP PARTYLIST: Fast Internet: Key to Progress

FICTAP stands for Federation of the International Cable TV and Telecommunications Association of the Philippines

FICTAP partylist members and officers believe that Fast Internet is the Key to Progress

According to their National Chairman and First Nominee, Estrellita " Neng" Juliano-Tamano of Cotabato FICTAP also stands for Fast Internet Connection Para Sa Tagumpay At Asenso ng Pilipino.

"Vice Chair-Luzon Cecilia La Madrid- Dy of Isabela is our 2nd Nominee, Dir. Ruben Cortez of Ilocos is our 5th Nominee, Dir. Jose Delmundo of Pangasinan and Dir. Rolando Olog of Samar. All of us are board of Directors of FICTAP," added Mrs. Juliano-Tamano
FICTAP is the largest non-profit organization of cable television operators in the country since January 26,1999.

"We recently celebrated our 20th anniversary as an organization in Manila Hotel. You see we're not one of those run of the mill partylist organizations who formed a partylist organization just so they could run under a partylist,"said Mrs. Juliano Tamano.

Its members include of small and medium cable enterprises that have embraced the expansion from delivering traditional cable TV into telecommunications and value-added services.

Their motto is "Bawat Filipino Konektado".

"United Nations says that "It is the basic right of every citizen to have an access to free internet," quips Mrs. Juliano Tamano

The FICTAP partylist wanted to speed up the passage of Free Public Wifi Act and make the internet in the Philippines cheap, reliable and super fast.

"We've been lagging behind our Asian Countries neighbors that even Myanmar and Cambodia has better internet connection than us," quips Mrs. Juliano Tamano.

They also plan to pass "Cellphone Users Act" which would be first in the world according to its first nominee.

One of the FICTAP platforms that I find nice is their idea to manufacture a special customized sim cards both for senior citizens and PWD's that automatically grant them discounts whenever they buy loads.

Another is their desire to provide for a reliable fast internet so freelancers like bloggers, #upwork workers, #OnlineSellers, #ecommerce owners #MobileLegends and #DOTA players could compete with other players worldwide. My next door neighbour is the manager of the Philippine pride DOTA champions which won them $19 million dollars in China two years ago. They suffer a set back last year when they lost in the US. This year, their mobile legends ace players pocketed them another championship. So, I can imagine the endless possibilities if we have a fast, reliable and free public internet connections.

Last but not the least, their "ANTI-CATFISH LAW" provision to penalize internet scammers and bullies.

A fast free public wifi is a welcome change. So if you want it to be implemented real soon then vote for #117 FICTAP PARTYLIST.

Please remember that you could only vote for one (1) partylist so please don't vote for 2 or more for it will invalidate your partylist vote. Thank you.
