WORLD OF DANCE PHILIPPINES" IS THE TOP WEEKEND SHOW IN THE COUNTRY



Finally, the time has come when the ingredient that made some show a success were finally recognized! 

Whether you admit it or not , dancers or back up dancers per se, were the most underrated profession in the showbiz industry. 

We've all watch "The Voice" and "Tawag ng Tanghalan" and other singing contest among others.  And got entertained by singers who belt out or sing your favorite song together with their back up dancers  Now,  for the first time in history,  Abs-Cbn franchised a show that recognized the dance profession not only in the Philippines but also opening up the world stage for those who are deserving. Yes,  peeps the winner of World of Dance here in the Philippines will represent the country in the international stage!  


"World of Dance Philippines," the Philippine edition of the biggest dance competition in the world has continuously been the most watch weekend program in the country since it started airing three weeks ago according to data from Kantar  Media. It's highest national TV rating so far, a score of 32.3%, was achieved on January 13 (Sunday.) It's hashtags also regularly trend and have even reached the top of the worldwide trending list of Twitter.

Twenty dance acts from all over the country,  and the world, have already qualified to go to the next round.

They have showcased different dance styles and moves, and shared different tales of triumph and hope as well.

One of these is Jay, a hiphop dancer who was once part of famed dance group XB GenSan. Judge Billy Crawford was emotional upon seeing Jay, whom he had danced with on "It's Showtime." According to Billy, "You came here to prove, not just to us, but to yourself as well, that you still have it. And I respect you for that."

Meanwhile, Tintin, one half of ballroom duo Cejrich and Tintin, admitted that her idol, the person that got her to start dancing was none other than judge, Maja Salvador, who noted that the two were the "perfect combination."

One of the other groups that passed the judges' scrutiny was B2WIN, an urban dance group composed of five young men who had auditioned for "Star Hunt." 

On the other hand , Mr. Pure Energy, and judge, Gary Valenciano praised the clean and snappy movements of the group. He said, "I like your name because 'win' is perfect for you. If its B2WIN, as in stars, you did shine like stars.

Hosts Luis Manzano and Pia Wurtzbach also join in on the fun as they interact with the contestants. The 2015 Miss Universe even did a walk-off with urban dance group Go Figure,  while Luis tried to keep up with ethnic streetdance group Move to the Groove.

There are more talented dance acts, funny, and heart-warming stories to watch out for in "World of Dance Philippines."
