The Super Parental Guardians: Earned 75 Million on Its Opening Day

Na reject man ang pelikula ni Vice Ganda na "The Super Parental Guardians" ng Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Executive Committee kumita naman ito ng PHP75 million sa unang araw nito sa takilya. Na higit na nagpapatunay ng lakas ni Vice Ganda at Coco Martin sa puso ng mga Filipino. Ika nga napagsarhan man ng pinto bumuhos naman ang biyaya mula sa bubongan.

Naging emosyonal si Vice Ganda ng magpasalamat sa moviegoers for the success of his latest movie.

Comedian Vice Ganda stars with Coco Martin, child stars Xymon Ezekiel "Onyok" Pineda and McNeal "Awra" Briguela, who are also part of Martin's primetime hit "Ang Probinsyano." 

"Super Parental Guardians," is their follow-up movie to "Beauty and the Bestie," which also topped the box office during last year's MMFF.

"Kahapon nung alas diyes (ng gabi) nag-announced na sila ng P68 million ang kinita na ng first day. Pero 'yun pala, hindi nag last full show ng alas diyes ang mga sinehan; umabot ng ala una ng madaling araw. Kaya nung nagsara ay umabot ng P75 million ang first day," he explained on "It's Showtime."

 

Vice Ganda also nearly cried as he dedicated the film's success to his friend, the late director Wenn Deramas.

"Lahat ng ito, lahat ng tagumpay na ito, lahat ng masayang pakiramdam na ito, I offer this to you Direk Wenn Deramas. I love you, I miss you and I just hope that you are seeing all these things happening right now and I hope that I'm still making you happy and proud," he said.

Vice Ganda and Deramas teamed up on blockbuster films like "Beauty and the Bestie" and "The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin." Their films have grossed more than P1.9 billion collectively, according to estimates from producer Star Cinema.

Vice Ganda also thanked his "Showtime" and ABS-CBN family, as well as fans for their support.

"Sa Dreamscape family ko, kay sir Deo Endrinal, maraming, maraming salamat. Kaninang madaling araw, pinuntahan niya ako kasi nababaliw ako, para akong sira-ulong nag-iiyak lang doon," he admitted.

"Masaya ako. Maganda 'yung ginawa ni Direk Joyce (Bernal) na pelikula," he said.

The "It's Showtime" host, whose past hit movies were directed by the late Wenn V. Deramas, admitted that it was really a different experience working with Bernal.

"Noong umpisa, nakakakaba noong first month naming shinoot. Tapos noong nanonood kami ng rushes, ibang iba. Siyempre ang makikita mo na ay 'yung galaw ni Joyce. Noong natapos na, ang ganda! Makikita mo din talaga," he said.
