OPM:Very Much Alive!

12 Stone Incorporated, an independent Filipino record label and talent management outfit with one aim—to spread the passion for Original Pilipino Music—is set to prove that OPM is very much alive and well with a fresh take that emphasizes the “Original” and the “Pilipino” in the local music scene.

The label, home to some of the Philippines’ most influential acts since 2003, will rally behind the Filipino musician in an unprecedented on-air, online and on-ground campaign that kicks off with the upcoming 12 Stone Music Festival this June where the youth and music lovers of all ages can come together for a show of support and love for local music.

Jumpstarting the event will be the grand album launch featuring all 12 Stone in-house artists at 7pm, June 1 at the Eastwood Central Plaza in Eastwood City, Libis, Quezon City. This shall be hosted by the beautiful half – Filipina, half-British model, brand ambassador and host Margo Midwinter.

The launch will be a gathering that combines some of the most established artists in the land with the Philippines’ Next Big Thing. OPM icons and multi-awarded vocalists Kitchie Nadal and Barbie Almalbis will highlight the collective talent while alternative rock band Rocksteddy will deliver a performance worthy of rock royalty.

Rounding up the ensemble and ready to make their mark are Absolute Play, the kid punk group composed of three teenaged scion Mato on drums, Alto on guitar/songwriter, Murielle on vocals; Save Me Hollywood, an All- Star rock/ punk collaboration between Calde of Chicosci, Aaron and Kenneth of April Morning Sky and Melvin of Typecast and fronted by former MYX VJ and current 88.3 JAM DJ Julz Savard current ambassador of “ I am Meg”; and up and coming singer-songwriter Ruth Legaspi.

A week after the Launch, the 12 Stone Music Tour happening in June-October will be in different Megaworld Lifestyle Malls. The Tour will kick off at The Lucky Chinatown in Manila at 4pm, June 7and the Venice Piazza McKinley Hill at 7pm, June 9.

The Tour will continue on to different campuses in Metro Manila and key cities.

12 Stone Records and its official marketing arm, Creative Minds-Strategic Media Marketing & Events, are behind the campaign that aims to provide alternative avenues for OPM artists to share their music and inspire the younger generation.

The record label seeks to introduce OPM to the “internet generation” with the music of new and distinctive Pinoy artists who know the heartbeat of this era.
